Pelvic Floor Health 101

Mindful Movement to Improve Pelvic Health

A mini-course addressing pelvic floor imbalances with yoga

Each class is 45 minutes of movement with 15 minutes of Q&A

Have you laughed, sneezed, or coughed, and moments later peed?

Has the urge to urinate suddenly appeared out of nowhere, so you didn’t make it to the bathroom on time?

Do you have pelvic pain that’s interrupting the quality of your life?

Do you experience any heaviness down there?

If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, you could be experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction.

Whether it’s incontinence, pelvic floor and lower back pain, or organ prolapse—these are all conditions that can be addressed by alignment-based yoga and breath awareness.

This course is ideal for you if:

  • You want to know more about pelvic floor health but haven’t had the time to research it for yourself.

  • There’s always a thought at the back of your mind when you leave the house of “What if I have an accident?”

  • You’re aware that things haven’t been the same since childbirth down there and are ready to reestablish a relationship with your body postpartum (however many years it has been).

  • You’ve heard your yoga teacher talk about the pelvic floor and are curious about what pelvic floor health means beyond doing kegels.

  •  Your sex life has been disrupted due to pelvic pain.

  • You’re busy with kids, career, and life in general and need a course that’s low-maintenance and fits in with your already-packed schedule.

What you will gain by joining:

  • A clear picture of what the pelvic floor is, how it functions, and the main pelvic floor imbalances.

  • Awareness of the state of your own pelvic floor and steps to relieve symptoms and discomfort.

  • Simple exercises that you can do at home to address urge and stress incontinence, pelvic pain, and prolapse.

  • A safe container to ask questions and receive resources.

  • A body-positive yoga practice that supports whatever treatment plan you’re already doing.

This course is not a quick fix but an introduction to practices that can help restore function and balance to the pelvic floor muscles over a consistent period of time. For optimal impact, regular practice is recommended.

This course does not diagnose or make prescriptions, and does not replace medical advice or treatment. If you’re experiencing acute symptoms, please seek out the care of a qualified medical practitioner. Resources available upon request.
